Massive Great Western Railway mobile hoists 1 and 3 near the approach to the Royal Albert Bridge, during renewal work in the late 1920's. The hoist had extendable arms on top for lifting iron girders into place

Archival History

This image was received from Timothy Lingard, owner of the Gallery Lingard in Pall Mall, London, who specialised in architectural drawings and perspectives. These images were part of the larger Sotheby's auction lot 524, 28/04/1988, and were unwanted by Lingard and subsequently donated to the N.M.R.
