Description

The gardens at Hidcote Manor were created by Major Lawrence Johnston between 1907 and 1948, when the gardens were acquired by the National Trust. The gardens are described as being in the Arts and Crafts style, and form a series of named 'rooms'. The development of the stream gardens and woodland were part of the third and final phase of Johnston's work at Hidcote, which took place between 1920 and 1930.
