Disclosing and Sharing Data
We will never sell your personal data. If you have opted in to marketing we may contact you with information about our partners, third party products and services but these communications will always come from Historic England and will be incorporated into our own (for example advertisements in newsletters)
We will only share personal data if:
- We are legally required to do so (for example if compelled by an order of court or by a law enforcement agency legitimately exercising a power)
- It is necessary for us to perform tasks carried out in the public interest or in exercise of the official authority vested in us under the National Heritage Act 1983 (as amended) (for example personal information submitted as part of a listing application will be shared with Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) who make a final decision based on our recommendations)
- We are working with a contractor, grant recipient, or supplier that is carrying out work on our behalf (for example research projects we have funded, IT Specialists or providers of payment solutions). However such activities will be carried out under a contract which imposes strict requirements on our supplier to keep your information confidential and secure
- You've given us permission to provide information about our partners or suppliers
