Tudor Rose Cottage, King Street, New Buckenham, Norfolk
This cottage was built in c1500. It is timber framed with wattle and daub walls. This is how most houses from this date were built. In 1738 it was altered and refronted to hide the timber frame. From this time there is a date plaque in the plaster with the inscription '17 IEL 38'. IEL stands for Joseph and Elizabeth Lucas.
