Townscape of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear
Many of the features of Gateshead are included in this picture, including the Tyne Bridge, the High Level Bridge and the Guildhall. The town is mentioned in a charter dated 1153-1195, but like many industrial towns much of the existing buildings date from the 18th and 19th centuries.
