The Vale Hotel, Gedling, Nottinghamshire
This pub and hotel was built in 1935-37. It was for Home Ales Brewery. It is an example of a fine quality Thirties public house designed by an important local, and nationally known architect, T Cecil Howitt. It is extremely well preserved both externally and internally. It has most of its original Art Deco style decoration. It was featured in an important contemporary book, The Planning and Equipment of Public Houses by W B Yourke. This book illustrated the very best examples of public house architecture of the period.
