The School House, Park View, Weeting, Norfolk
This school house was built in c1770. It was paid for and built by Lord Montrath of Weeting Hall. He was an Irish peer, the 7th Earl of Montrath, Charles Henry Coote (b.1725 - d.1802). By 1756 he had bought a house in Weeting and further estates at Bromhill and West Dereham Abbey. The school was built 100 years before the 1870 Education Act made going to school compulsory.
