The Almsrooms (The Old Workhouse), Peterborough
This building was built as a timber framed house. It was built in the 17th century. It was later used as a workhouse. In 1837 the Cumbergate workhouse was converted into an almshouse. This was because the new Peterborough Union Workhouse been built on Thorpe Road.
