Stepney Board School, Beverley Road, Kingston Upon Hull
Stepney school is dated 1886 and was designed by William Botterill in a Queen Anne style. It was one of 37 schools built by Hull School board between 1870 and 1902. It was built on what was then the edge of Hull, in an area known as Stepney, in order to provide a healthy environment for the pupils. It opened in May 1889 for 889 children; boys on the ground floor, girls on the first floor and infants in the single story building.
