St Johns College Farmhouse, Hilton, Cambridgeshire

This was built in the 15th century. It is a timber framed hall house. It has been altered several times since. An original entry to the garderobe is now sealed. The garderobe was a medieval version of an indoor toilet. It was usually built into the overhanging jetty of the house. This meant that waste dropped through a hole straight down to a drain (or the street) below.
