Sneath's Mill, Lutton Gowts, Lutton, Lincolnshire

This brick built tower mill has a plaque above the door giving it a date of 1779. This refers to the casing in brick, in that year, of an existing wooden smock mill on the site. The octagonal mill is the only survivor of a group of three similar drainage mills. It suffered storm damage in the 1930s and has not operated or been repaired since. The plan of the mill is unique to Lincolnshire. The poll end and trundle gears are the last surviving examples in Lincolnshire.
