Revolving Tower, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

The Revolving Tower was built at Great Yarmouth in April 1897 by London engineer Thomas Warwick. It continued in use until 1939 and it was the first of only five such towers put up in England. The first Revolving Tower was built in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Customers travelled in the ring-shaped carriage which rotated as it rose up the Tower which was about 150 feet high, giving panoramic views.
