Prince's Wharf and Wapping Wharf, Cumberland Road, Bristol
Prince's Wharf and Wapping Wharf were designed by Thomas Howard, Docks Engineer, in 1874-76. They are part of Bristol's floating harbour that was created by putting locks on the Rivers Frome and Avon to allow Bristol to develop as a port. The cranes have been left in place to record the work of loading and unloading ships that used to happen on the wharves. Today most of the use is for leisure.
