Old Grammar School, Skipton, North Yorkshire

This building was originally a chapel for the Knights Hospitallers. The Hospitallers grew out of a brotherhood for the care of sick pilgrims. This started in a hospital at Jerusalem, following the First Crusade in 1100 AD. The building then became the grammar school in 1548. It eventually became too small and was replaced by Ermystead's Grammar School in 1877.
