Nashdom, Nashdom Lane, Burnham, Buckinghamshire
Nashdom was built in 1911 by Lutyens for Princess Dolgorouki. Princess Dolgorouki was the heiress Miss Wilson and married a Russian prince. She was famous for her love of entertaining. She wanted a house in the Thames Valley for weekend river parties and it had to provide a luxurious setting suitable for exiled royalty. In 1929 the house was bought by the Anglican Order of Benedictine Monks.
