Ickenham Manor, Long Lane, Ickenham, Greater London
This Late Medieval Manor house is timber framed and mainly has brick cladding on the ground floor. There were some alterations and additions in the 16th, l7th and 18th centuries. The manor house belonged to the Shoreditch family and survives in a rural setting among the suburbs of London. Manor houses were home to the Lord of the Manor and were usually built to be defended from attack. There are still traces of a moat around the house.
