ICI plant, Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland
The chemical industry at Billingham developed from the First World War. During the 1920s ICI developed a chemical plant, and other companies grew up around it. An impression of the extensive landscape of chemical manufacturing is given in this photograph.
