Huntingdon Tower, High Street, City Of Leicester
Also known as The Lord’s Place tower. This was the last remaining part of the town house of the third Earl of Huntingdon. It survived until the widening of High Street in 1900. The house was built for one of the three most powerful families in the town (the Hastings)around 1569. There were originally two towers. Mary Queen of Scots is reputed to have stayed there in 1569 or 1586.
