Hob Hurst's House, nr Beeley, Derbyshire
Hob Hurst's House is a Bronze Age cairn or barrow(burial mound). It is on the highest part of Baslow Moor. It is an unconventional shape, being roughly square instead of circular. It most closely resembles a saucer barrow but is well outside the main area of saucer barrows, in Wessex (Wiltshire). It is apparently named after a local goblin. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010). Read detailed archaeological description.
