Harrow School, Harrow-on-the-Hill, London
Harrow School on Harrow-on-the-Hill was founded in 1572 by a local yeoman farmer. The first building was not opened to scholars until 1611. This building still survives as the Old Schools. It can be seen on the left at the top of the hill with a stepped gable. The chapel on the right dates from the 1850s. Former pupils include Byron, Sheridan and Trollope whose names are carved in the oak panelled walls of the fourth form room. This view includes some pupils.
