Graving Dock, North Road, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria

This graving dock was opened on the 1st August 1872. It measures 500x60 feet (approx 150x18m) and has its entrance from the Walney Channel. It was used as a dry dock where ships would go for repair and maintenance. The dock remained in use until the 1950s. The Dock Museum was built partly over the dock.
