This electricity showroom and office was 'cutting edge' when it was built in 1935. The 1930s was the first decade when all new houses began to be built with electricity and gas installed as standard.

Built in 1936 this house is derived from the Sunspan design, first exhibited at the 1934 Ideal Home Exhibition. The design was intended for builders as an alternative to the usual traditional design of house.
