Chimney on Smitham Hill, East Harptree, Bath and North East Somerset
Mining, particularly of lead, but also of calamine, was important in this area. It was important from the mid 17th century until it finally ceased in the 1890’s. This chimney is one of the few features left as evidence of this activity.
