Bush Hill Sluice, Bush Hill Road, Enfield, Greater London
This is a sluice house on the New River. It was built in 1796, probably by Robert Mylne, for the New River Company. From the sluice house sluice gates were opened or closed to control the flow of water. It is part of the works of the New River, founded 1613 by Sir Hugh Myddelton, in order to bring a purer water supply to London.
