Unpath’d Waters Demonstrated at Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology

In December 2023, we demonstrated the Unpath'd Waters project to the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology at a Creative Industries Showcase.

It was organised to highlight the economic and cultural impact that a combination of Research & Development (R&D) funding and creative technologies can have in the UK.

Barney Sloane of Historic England and the University of Bradford’s Phil Murgatroyd presented an early version of the project’s simulation of Doggerland and discussed how the many Unpath’d Waters researchers and institutions are bringing together marine heritage data collections using novel methods.

The event also showcased the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s (AHRC) commitment to funding projects which demonstrate that R&D funding enables the Arts and Humanities to be technological creators and innovators rather than simply using technologies created by others.
