Description

511 drawings of the mansion documenting the structure from 1910, including sheets relating to the transfer to the Crown in the late 1940s of part of the building for use as a museum; alterations principally to the east front, forecourt, piers and railings and boundary walls between 1958 and 1962; proposals for a new carriageway; designs for cabinets and display frames for the Plate and China Room; and heating, ventilation and electrical installation diagrams.

A large number of the plans relate to the refurbishment of Apsley House - including the windows, electrical, walkways. They include methods of protecting the house during the refurbishment process.
