Description

117 measured drawings and rectified photographs of the fort and related military buildings at Archcliffe Yard.

Included are a number of late-18th century drawings by the Board of Ordnance and the Royal Engineers. From the early- and mid-20th century there are sheets relating to maintenance, construction and demolition of military buildings such as married quarters and barrack blocks.

There are a number of sheets dating from after 1979, when the Department of the Environment (and latterly English Heritage) took over custodianship of the site. There are electrical and heating drawings from 1982, sketch plans and elevations of the barbican and gatehouse from 1991and rectified photographic surveys and individual sheets from 1996, 1997 and 2009.
