Description

File containing eight folders of photographs, measured drawings, correspondence and an illustrated report. There are photographic copies of views of Stonehenge from a 14th-century manuscript and 18th and 19th century books, including a bird's eye view plan and elevation; three late Victorian photographs, two of models of the monument; views of works to re-erect and straighten stones in 1919-1920, together with plans of the monument before that work; views taken between 1920 and 1957; and an illustrated report on how the work to re-erect trilithon 57/58 was to be carried out, dated March 1957.

Archival History

Prints duplicating the contents of albums have been destroyed. Only prints not in albums or images of superior quality to those in albums have been retained and catalogued.
