Description

Two 1" 1932 Ordnance Survey maps headed "The Frome Roads" and "The Lacock Roads" (also reproductions). The diagrams were first used, indeed specially prepared, for the 1932 edition of the Neolithic Wessex map compiled by O.G.S. Crawford. They were included in a letterpress booklet which accompanied the map, hence the figure numbers. Brian Hopper thinks that the material might also have been used in the Ordnance Survey Professional Paper (1932) revising field archaeology.
