A series of 414 items, predominantly photographic prints, showing various sites and structures within the county of Warwickshire, with a few exceptions where photographs of other counties are attached to the same mounts.
The collection covers sites including Warwick Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Leycester's Hospital in Warwick, Guy's Cliffe House near Warwick, Shakespeare's Birthplace, the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre and the Holy Trinity Church in Stratford on Avon, Ann Hathaway's Cottage in Shottery and Coventry Cathedral.
Photographic processes represented by the prints in this collection include albumen prints, carbon prints, colotype prints, platinum prints and photographic postcards, amongst others, and notable photographers or photographic companies whose work is here represented include James Valentine and Sons Limited, Francis Frith and Company Limited, George Washington Wilson and Company Limited, W and Company Limited, W S Spanton, Bernard Moore, Hugh Welch Diamond, Evan G Humphreys, J E Duggins, R E Bleasdale, Francis Bedford, and Sir J. Benjamin Stone, amongst others.
Sites outside the county of Warwickshire which appear in this series include: Newark Castle in Nottinghamshire, the parish of Westonbirt with Lasborough in Gloucestershire and Rotherfield in East Sussex.
