Description

The series contains over 50,000 black and white file and glass negatives taken by the Ministry of Works between about 1900 and 1945.

They show: what are now English Heritage properties: UK Government buildings and construction projects; and other historic buildings. The negatives have a letter prefix that relates to the first letter of a site name of a subject.

Photographic prints of many of the images are available in the 'Blue Albums' (OWS01/01) and other series of prints such as those of bomb damaged buildings (OWS01/17).

A card index is available.

Archival History
