The collection contains 70 files containing reports, photographs, correspondence and research material relating to industrial sites associated with iron and steel manufacture in England.
The records were compiled as part of an English Heritage Monuments Protection Programme project established for recording surviving examples of these structures. The records provide an insight into the background and running of the project and its results. The collection was compiled by David Crossley of the University of Sheffield.
A handlist is available.
The collection was acquired by the NMR in 2010.
