Description

A series of 153 negatives with some prints (mostly glass plate negatives with a few on photographic film) taken by Charles William Prickett between from circa 1920-1945. Most of the photographs have been taken in London and include images of the Inns of Court, Liverpool Street Station circa 1932, the demolition of the Old Waterloo Bridge and other buildings prior to or during demolition, bomb damage around St Paul's Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus - pre 1920 and Covent Garden. There are also a few photographs which were taken in Portsmouth. Three of the photographs appear to have taken much earlier than the rest of the collection, between 1895 - 1905, and it has therefore been assumed that they were not taken by Prickett.
