- Series containing Photographic material
The series contains 4234 colour and black and white 35mm slides, dating from 1966 to 2010, and taken by Paul Calvocoressi, a heritage professional and former Historic England employee. The slides focus predominately on industrial heritage and includes bridges, train stations, pump houses, telephone exchanges, housing, docks and wharfs, factories and warehouses. Domestic, religious and historic monuments also feature but in limited numbers. Coverage is national in scope, but the industrial archaeology of London is particularly well represented, especially Southwark, where the photographer worked towards the end of his career. There is good coverage of Newcastle and the north east of England. Various foreign locations are also represented including Scotland, Italy, Germany, Nigeria and Cuba. Some of the photography was taken during A.I.A (Association of Industrial Archaeology), V.A.G (Vernacular Architecture Group) and A.S.H.C.B (Association for Studies in the Conservation of Historic Buildings) group tours.
