Taken for 'Black History Month'. Photographer's note: 'late 12th century church with later alterations and additions built of sandstone from the nearby Roman wall and fort on which the church is sited. In the churchyard lies a plaque stating: 'The first recorded African community in Britain guarded in a Roman fort on this site.'
