Description

Kirkstall Abbey, a Cistercian monastery, was founded in 1152. The west elevation of the Chapter House, seen here, dates from the later 12th century, and the eastern end from the 13th century. The print has a monograph and date in the bottom left hand corner, identifying the photographer as George Fowler Jones. There is also a stamp on the reverse of the print, with the words 'spectemur agendo'.
