Explore 6 million historic aerial photographs covering all of England.
The projects will explore untold stories at the heart of our history.
Despite this image being found within Miss Deste's Yorkshire photographs, the sign is probably the one which formerly stood outside the Leathern Bottel (now known as The Wavendon Arms) at 2 Newport Street, Wavendon, Milton Keynes (NGR SP9144637342), a pub owned by Charles Wells, a Bedford based brewery.
