The theatre and surrounding buildings were demolished in 1891, to be replaced by a new theatre, hotel and restaurant, built at the end of the 1890s. In the photograph, posters advertising an auction of materials can be seen at ground floor level and lot numbers are painted on the wall at first floor level.
