The three spires of Coventry are those of Holy Trinity Church, St Michael's Church, and Christ Church, shown in this photograph from left to right. The St Michael's Cathedral was bombed in 1940; the tower and spire were among the surviving ruins. The spire of Christ Church is all that remains following the dissolution of Greyfriars, a medieval monastic house. Christ Church was built on the site, and was largely destroyed by bombing in 1941. The original spire was restored in 1950.
