Description

The engraving is entitled 'The Representation of a Sea Fight on the Serpentine River, in commemoration of Peace in 1814'.

The fair in Hyde Park was held in August 1814, and was intended as a three-fold celebration, marking peace in the Napoleonic Wars, the centenary of the House of Hanover in Britain and notable visits from foreign dignitaries.
