Mary Theodora Pollit (1871-1947) was the daughter of the Reverend William Bell and his second wife Mary. In 1916 she married Ernest Pollit, an engineer, in Rusholme, Manchester. During the Second World War, Mary Theodora Pollit worked with the NBR to record buildings in Cheshire. She also took photographs for the Council for the Care of Churches in the late 1930s.
The collection comprises 14 black and white negatives taken dating between the late 1930s - early 1940s. They include views of Holdsworth House, Calderdale (x 5); Puddington Old Hall, Cheshire (x5); Curfew Tower, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire (x 1); Old Pinfold, Capenhurst, Cheshire (x 1) and Graveley Place, Minster Yard, Lincoln (x 1).
